Judges 3:2-4

The Voice

² so that those who had not experienced war personally might know it: ³ the five Philistine capital cities, all the Canaanite tribes, the Sidonians, and the Hivites who lived on the mountains of Lebanon from Mount Baal-hermon to the entrance of Lebo-hamath. ⁴ They were intended to test the Israelites, to determine whether they would follow the commandments that the Eternal gave to their ancestors through Moses.
